Blood Relation (रक्त संबंध)
1. Family Tree Notations & Representation Rules
Constructing a clean multi-generational family tree eliminates gender and connection ambiguities[cite: 3]:
- Gender Notations: Use \((+)\) for Male (पुरुष) and \((-)\) for Female (महिला)[cite: 3]. Never assume gender purely from a name unless stated[cite: 3].
- Marital Alliance: Connect spouses using an equal sign: \(A = B\) (where one is \(+\) and the other is \(-\))[cite: 3].
- Sibling Connection: Represent brothers and sisters on the same horizontal level with a single hyphen: \(A - B\)[cite: 3].
- Vertical Generation Shift: Place parents vertically higher with an upward link (\(\uparrow\)) and offspring lower with a downward link (\(\downarrow\))[cite: 3].
- Question Classification:
- Type I (Direct): Multi-generational statements (\(A\) is mother of \(B\))[cite: 3].
- Type II (Coded): Relationships defined by mathematical operators (\(P \times Q\), \(P + Q\))[cite: 3].
- Type III (Pointing/Photo): First-person or third-person narrative deductions[cite: 3].
2. Multi-Generational Hierarchy Mapping
- +3 Generation: Great Grandparents (परदादा / परदादी)[cite: 3].
- +2 Generation: Grandfather / Grandmother (दादा-दादी / नाना-नानी)[cite: 3].
- +1 Generation: Father, Mother, Uncle, Aunt, Father-in-law, Mother-in-law (माता-पिता, चाचा, मामा, सास-ससुर)[cite: 3].
- 0 Generation (Base / Self): Self, Brother, Sister, Spouse, Cousins, Brother-in-law, Sister-in-law[cite: 3].
- -1 Generation: Son, Daughter, Nephew, Niece (पुत्र, पुत्री, भतीजा/भांजा, भतीजी/भांजी)[cite: 3].
- -2 Generation: Grandson, Granddaughter (पोता / पोती, नाती / नातिन)[cite: 3].
- -3 Generation: Great Grandchildren (परपोता / परपोती)[cite: 3].
3. Illustrative Exam Applications
- Coded Relation Deduction: If \(L \div M \implies L \text{ is wife of } M\) (\(L^{(-)} = M^{(+)}\)), \(M \times S \implies M \text{ is father of } S\), and \(S + T \implies S \text{ is brother of } T\), then \(L\) is the Mother of \(T\)[cite: 3].
- Indirect Photo Reference: "She is the mother of Neelam and Neelam's father is my son"[cite: 3]. Sunita's son is Neelam's father, so the woman is married to Sunita's son[cite: 3]. Thus, Sunita is her Mother-in-law (सास)[cite: 3].
